Thank U Celebrates Maya Angelou at 80
"Thank you to the Thank U Organisation and to all the supporters of children and their thirst for nurture and education. I am
pleased, beyond the telling of I, by the countries of Ghana, South Africa and Trinidad and Tobago. The decision to name the
children's libraries in my honour, delights and humbles me. I am grateful." -- Maya Angelou

This year, Thank U is fundraising for the construction of Children’s Milestone Libraries in the name of literary icon,
Dr Maya Angelou, to mark the evening of the commemoration of the 200th Anniversary of the abolishment of Slave Trade,
and carry on her legacy of education and motivation in South Africa, Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago.
The buildings will be ecologically sound and sustainable, using low cost local materials and powered by solar energy. The design of a nature reserve on the grounds of the buildings, will help the children to learn about looking after their environment, whilst learning to read. Donate to Thank U
